Nights At The Pictures

Giffnock Library

Monday 20 August, 1pm

Come and join us as we relive the days of classic Scottish cinema!

The National Library of Scotland are bringing their fabulous touring display 'Going to the Pictures' to Giffnock Library from Saturday 18th August. This display tells the story of Scotland's memories of cinema through the printed and moving image collections of the National Library of Scotland.

To celebrate we are running a screening of local filmmaker Tom Marchant's Night at the Pictures: the story of cinema in Scotland. This entertaining film charts the development of Scottish cinema and is full of nostalgic moments which will bring memories of 'the pictures' flooding back.

After the movie, you can stay to explore the exhibition and examine the objects in the 'Projectionist's Case'
